Today we launched the TuneIn First Play program, which gives listeners early access to new episodes from a broad range of great podcasts. We’ve partnered with top content creators like WNYC Studios, Gimlet, HowStuffWorks, Wondery, Feral Audio, and StarTalk to include some of their most popular shows and some brand new ones, too.

More than 30 podcasts will take part in First Play and new episodes will drop up to one week early on TuneIn, so our users can hear them for free before they’re available anywhere else. We’re including podcasts that fans already love, like Sword & Scale, Sworn, and Happiness Podcast, and exciting new podcasts we’re certain they’ll enjoy, like Uncivil from Gimlet Media and Spooked from WNYC.

More than 30 podcasts will release new episodes up to one week early on TuneIn.

According to Edison Research and Triton Digital’s annual Infinite Dial Report, the monthly U.S. podcast audience grew 21% from 2016 to 2017. Podcasters are fueling this incredible growth by pushing the creative bounds of audio and delivering exciting new content, and our goal is to help them to reach more listeners.

Recently, we’ve worked to enrich the podcast listening experience for our users, adding features like offline listening (episode downloads) and a “Your New Episodes” section in the Home screen where they can quickly access the latest episodes of their favorite podcasts. To take advantage of this feature, simply mark a podcast as a “Favorite” (look for the ❤️ ) ️ and you’ll see new episodes appearing in the Home screen as soon as they’re released.

Through First Play, we’re aiming to introduce new audiences to the captivating podcast content we have on TuneIn. We’re excited to bring these amazing podcasts to our users (early and free!) and we hope to continue cultivating love for podcasts all over the world.

Here are the podcasts and creators participating in TuneIn’s First Play program. Additional podcasts will be added in the coming weeks, so please check here for updates:
