A fireside chat with Matt Cutts, USDS Administrator, and Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO: Culture

Watch part two of a series that shares the conversation between Matt Cutts and Satya Nadella during a USDS staff meeting.

Our mission is to deliver better government services to the American people through technology and design. At USDS we live by our mission and values. They drive our decisions and have shaped our culture from the beginning, even with change of leadership.

In part two of a discussion between Matt and Satya, they discuss the Microsoft culture, sense of mission, and shifting to a focus on AI and innovation.

Satya shares his thoughts on the idea of concept, capability, and culture as a machine that you must constantly iterate on.

Our culture is made up of new talent we’re constantly bringing in, to offer fresh perspectives and skills to government. When you join USDS, you’ll be part of a team that has it’s own culture, and connects with innovators and leaders in tech. We host regular ‘coffee talks’ in our ‘tea room’ (ironic, we know) and had Peggy Johnson, Executive Vice President of Business Development at Microsoft, come visit. She chatted with us about AI, productivity, hiring diverse teams, and being an advocate for women in STEM careers.

The best of technology.
The best of government.
And we want you.
