Disney does it again with another heart-wrenching movie that nearly everyone can relate to and learn from and that movie is called “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”

“Ralph Breaks the Internet” is the second movie to the movie series “Wreck it Ralph’’ and it was released 21 November 2018.

It’s about two video-game characters Ralph and Vanellope who live in an arcade game in an arcade and now they have a new installment called the internet. At some point, Ralph and Vanellope end up breaking Vanellopes’ game on accident which broke Vanellopes’ steering wheel to her arcade game. Ralph and Vanellope race against the clock as they had searched for a way to save Vanellopes’ game through the internet but while trying to raise the funds to buy their new game Vanellope falls in love with a much more dangerous and unpredictable game called Slaughter Race that seemed to satisfy and feed more into her wanderlust. Ralphs difficulty to cope with the thought of Vanellope leaving made him compulsive, bullheaded and controlling.

This was an adorable and refreshing movie because it demonstrated what the messiness of love and friendship is like. It also highlights the obnoxiousness of the overwhelmingly interactions and relationships with the “nice” guy complex that many people have experienced in their lives (1). Ralph, who is the “nice” guy risked his own game for Vanellope because he wanted her all to himself and because of that he put so many lives at risk and hurt his friends in his own game.

It showed the beautiful dynamic between two very close friends, where one was a control freak and the other was a wanderer trying to loosen up and find their own place in the world.

The characters are super relatable and I loved that. It also made me feel less alone.

This movie was not preachy when it came to the messages it gave off but it was subtle yet obvious enough for kids and adults together to laugh and get emotional about. It was relevant enough for the kids to understand like when Vanellope went to Disney World online and met the princesses, which made me realize that she is a Disney Princess. It was like a reality check. The lesson that this movie gave me and many others was, if you really love someone then you have to be willing to let them go so that they themselves can be happy again and that it’s okay to want variety (2).
