I have this great idea for an app, let’s go 50–50!
As a developer I hear this line too often and you need to stop saying it.
After I introduce myself to an unknown person I just met and I make the “mistake” of telling such person that I develop apps for a living, the next line I hear is the one in the title:
“I have this great idea for an app, let’s go 50–50!”
You all need to stop this nonsense. Unless you can bring something to the table (marketing background, capital investment,etc) then no developer will work on your idea for free and THEN give you 50%!
Same goes about signing an NDA, it makes you look amateurish and not as an entrepreneur. You have to know that your brilliant idea has been done over and over, maybe you can do a better execution but no developer will steal your “unique” idea. You have to understand they probably see offers like yours all the time.
