Part 1: Introduction to the Ultimate Guide to the Attendee Experience (AX)

What if I told you that you could enhance the experience of your attendees and help them enjoy your events in exciting new ways? Wouldn’t that be cool?

Why is the attendee experience not optimized?

One of the main areas event organizers are challenged with is helping attendees navigate an event and ensuring the entire attendee journey is delightful.

The waters can be muddied further by the fact that if you put TOO much emphasis on providing guidance, you can actually get in the event attendee’s way.

That’s the purpose of this ultimate guide. To help event planners minimize struggles with the ‘flow’ of their events, eliminate guesswork, and most importantly, cut down on confused and frustrated attendees.

Why We Wrote This Guide

There are many event planning models out there, and there are benefits and drawbacks to all of them. We’ve found that there aren’t too many methods out there that put the attendee first, and that’s why we focused on the Attendee Experience (AX) planning methodology.

The Attendee Experience (AX) planning methodology uses a customer-centric approach

We believe this is the best system for planning successful events for the following reasons:

  • According to event planners, the most important stakeholder at events by far is the attendee*.
  • As we all know, the event experience is progressive, non linear and operates over time, making it critical to plan around the experiential journey of the attendee.
  • The experience-driven methodology has worked very well for User Experience (website and digital design) and Customer Experience (customer support and retention)
  • Today’s technology allows for the melding of digital and live experiences, so you can deliver touchpoints prior to attendees registering as well as long after the event concludes.

We look forward to showing you how to harness the power of the Attendee Experience and make it work for you. As a result, you’ll be able to engage and delight attendees with every interaction, resulting in more successful events.
