What to Expect From Meta Connect 2022
The Meta Quest Pro Takes Center Stage
Meta’s Connect conference has become one of my favorite tech events. I look forward to watching all the talks and looking at the potential future of virtual reality. This year will be no different. There will be a keynote and some other speakers doing individual keynotes. These are announcements I expect to see this year.
Meta Quest Pro
The Meta Quest Pro will be officially unveiled at Connect. I also expect them to announce a relatively close release date. When Mark Zuckerberg went on the Joe Rogan podcast, he stated that the device releases in October. I am excited to see the specs and all the new tech that will go into this device. The price will also be another major topic of the reveal. My best guess is that the device will cost $1000.
Major Horizon Update
Horizon is Meta’s attempt at a metaverse, and the results have been underwhelming. Mark Zuckerberg recently showed a new image of a future graphics update to Horizon worlds. I think this update will be expanded on at the event. The update will also include features from the Meta Quest Pro, such as face tracking. I do not expect the update to come out anytime soon, but it will be good to get a roadmap.
