As a professional tarot reader, people ask me all the time if something will happen. I always give the same answer.

“I can’t predict the future. That’s not what tarot is for, at least not the way I use it. How about if we ask for deeper insight about the situation and what you need to know to learn the most you can as things unfold?”

They usually are surprised and then interested. By the time the reading is over, they almost always say something like, “Wow, that was really helpful. Everything you said resonated and now I have a much better understanding of what is going on. I feel pretty clear on what I have to do/know/decide/figure out moving forward. Thank you so much!”

You see, tarot is not for telling the future or your “fortune,” (whatever that is). It’s a tool for self-awareness and deeper understanding of the situation at hand.
