How to start preparing for Ramadan?
Ramadan is almost here, the month we wait all year to change our lives. But how to start preparing for Ramadan? Make a practical plan and implement it.
Recipe of a Great Ramadan
The hope is real and the dream is near, waiting to be fulfilled.
The recipe is simple, yet requires dedication. Here it is for your consumption, once again:
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of good intentions
1 tablespoon of the right direction
1/2 cup of setting achievable (practical goals) goals
Recipe
Put in the goals after adding the right direction. Sprinkle in good intentions. Mix all ingredients together with love and dedication. Your best Ramadan is ready.
Cooking time: 30 Days
Now you know the recipe! But the question is where to start?
And the answer is: You need a System.
How to develop a Productive System?
As James Clear writes in his book Atomic Habits:
“Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress.”
From my personal experience, you need to write down the goals and have an accountability system in place, which can help you stay on course.
There are many options; you can write them down in some notebook, app or use a planner/journal. It’s up to you.
But the secret is, you need to make yourself ‘accountable’ for completing the tasks.
Most importantly, you need discipline (& not motivation). If a thing has to be done, Salah to be prayed, Quran to be read… then it must be done with discipline, even if you feel unmotivated or lazy.
And these rules apply to everything in life to achieve anything.
