When you kill so hard you killed the show

Somehow I missed the news of ‘Scream’ season 3 being a fresh reboot. UH, WHAT? YOU DON’T JUST TAKE A SHOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLOT AND CUT THE CAST AND STORY, LEAVING US ALL HANGING WITH LOOSE ENDS!

Ahem. I needed to get that off my chest.

I get that the ratings are bad, but rebooting a show without closure is a good way to lose and alienate the remaining fan base that you have.

If the mini-movie that came out last year was supposed to be a form of testing the waters for continuing the show, I guess the fans failed? You can’t hinge a show’s existence based on an in-between, elongated episode that — let’s be us honest — a lot of people probably didn’t even know about.

To make matters worse, all that mini-movie did was leave us with more questions and gave us a brand new killer. If they had concluded with season 2 (as it was a conclusion of sorts), they could have easily made season 3 a reboot without all of…
