They have been warned. Those who gardened and saw it grew already warned those who have planted it. Yet, they waited for the flower to bloom, only to kill hundreds and injured thousands.

It has been an ordinary day for the residents of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon this August 4. It was always how every moment will start, shining the beautiful garden of Eden of the said country with the morning light, the darkness will suddenly come. Yet, little did they know, the seed that has been planted by authorities for more than 6 years ago in the port city warehouse, despite warnings by various groups, was still kept until the tragedy happened for them to put an iron fist for those who neglected it.

GENESIS: REAPING THE SEEDS

In 2013, the cargo ship MV Rhosus was caught on the port of Eden, carrying 2,750 tons of the wicked seeds, ammonium nitrate. Due to its lack of seaworthiness, the ship was prohibited to sail, making its cargo being abandoned to the port. With the wicked minds of those who reap, the seeds were planted inside its warehouse, only to somehow be forgotten forever.

EXODUS: THE SUDDEN BLOOM OF A SAPLING

As the planters have forgotten what they planted, its bloom will never be forgotten, especially for those who witnessed it that day. At first, it was just a small, yet loud explosion. People have seen huge smoke formed outside the warehouse. With it sprouting its seeds all over, firework-liked sparks have also observed.

Yet for those who have seen it only thought for it to be that just small as a bonsai. Little did they knew that the worse is yet to come. The second boom was heard, and as to what it is, the last will not be the least, but the biggest. It grew into a very tall mushroom, sprouted just like Jack’s beanstalk.

As it grew, it sparked danger for those who come near, as ammonium nitrate is a toxic substance that used to make fertilizers and explosives, making its bloom as strong as thousands of TNT.

APOCALYPSE: The Aftermath

After the said bloom, the flower suddenly died, so as the garden of Eden. Cadavers have seen on the ground, scattered everywhere as much as how much the reapers scattered the seeds. Buildings were collapsed, the same time the flower’s roots and stem laid over.

Yet it was all that moment, that the authorities have realized they were wrong, that they should have listened to those who planted it before reaping it. But it just all as it is, even they are guilty, they are blaming neighbors for its widespread, killing other precious flowers in the garden of Beirut.
