Crocs… Man’s Best Footwear
“To be nobody but yourself — in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight.” — E.E Cummings
If you know me at all, you know that I am a Crocs connoisseur. For some odd reason that I am not sure I can fully explain, I have latched on the the Crocs brand, and I do not intend to let go. I think this infatuation stemmed from the fact that literally no one wears Crocs over the age of 10 anymore. For some reason Crocs stopped being cool and suddenly started becoming the brunt of an insurmountable wave of severely lame jokes. I think I noticed this and I internally decided that I wanted to raise Crocs back from the dead, even though I possessed the complete knowledge that it is much easier to tame a zealot than to raise a corpse. I began this project around Christmas of my junior year in high school by buying an original pair of “yard Crocs”. From there, I’ve expanded my Crocs collection to a pair of Croc/Sperry hybrids and I also added Spiderman and Batman jiblitz to my original pair. Even though these two pairs of shoes radiate swag and beauty, I don’t think I have influenced anyone else to go out and purchase a pair of these fabulous shoes for themselves. In spite of that letdown, I have at least established Crocs as a respectable shoe brand nonetheless and made them my own personal trademark. Now I get pictures of Crocs from people all around the country saying that these shoes made them think of me.
Not that there is a moral to this story at all, but if I could convince you of something, it would be this: don’t let what others think about you control what your style is or how you dress yourself. Now there are some parameters to this in the essence of participating in things unholy or immoral, but I am simply talking about small insignificant fashion statements. If you want to wear Hawaiian shirts, cargo shorts, and sketchers, then by all means freakin go for it! I cannot express to you enough how important it is to be your own person in life. Don’t let the opinions of others dictate how you live your life! Let yourself be free from social bondage and live in the world of fashion freedom. I have been in this world for a pretty solid while now and it's grand. Come my friends and join me!
