Can Monterey Bay FC Turn Out the Lights in Las Vegas?

MBFC travels to the City of Sin in their latest round of USL Championship action this weekend

Winners of three straight in all competitions, Monterey Bay FC is riding high once again after a streak that saw them go six games without a win. Headed out on the road, they will take on Las Vegas, a club currently in the throes of their own major slump. However, they have just entered a period of major transition and it remains to be seen if MBFC can turn the lights out when they hit the City of Sin on Saturday.

On the face of it, things look like they could be worse for Las Vegas. The Lights have a 3–3–6 record and sit a single point off the seventh and eighth positions in the Western Conference. However, they have experienced catastrophic periods of failure with both their attack and defense, leading to the dismissal this week of first-year Head Coach Antonio Nocerino after 12 matches. The Italian wasn’t able to meet lofty expectations and ownership decided that it was still early enough to try and right the ship by moving in a new direction.
