A generous head of tousled hair and an impressive mustache starting to veer into walrus territory makes defender Jacob Muir one of the more instantly recognizable players for Monterey Bay FC. One of the more than a dozen new acquisitions this past offseason, the 23-year-old is considered an intriguing up and coming player. Unfortunately, injuries and illness have kept him out of all but one match (plus an additional US Open Cup match) so far this season. However, he’s making his way back to a return to action, and fans should not sleep on the talented product of Australia.
Muir spent the previous three seasons playing for the Perth Glory of Australia’s A-League. During that time, he played in 33 matches (26 starts), notching three assists. He also scored a goal in three 2023–24 Australia Cup matches.
