Although Monterey Bay FC has picked up points in five of their last six matches, they have totaled just one win during that span. They look to get back on the winning track this weekend when they travel to Arizona to take on Phoenix Rising, one of the most confounding clubs in USL Championship this season.

Although these last six games haven’t been the finest example of what Monterey Bay is capable of, their grit in continuing to grind out points is a departure from previous seasons. In particular, their attack has struggled with its consistency. Despite having some beautifully set up goals of late, they’ve managed just four scores in those last six matches, which has been buttressed by allowing a paltry four to their opponents. Quality hasn’t been in question, it’s been the consistency.
