Notes for Monterey Bay FC’s Match Against San Antonio FC

Monterey Bay F.C. will kick off their 2025 season this Saturday by traveling to play San Antonio FC. It will be a good test for MBFC, as their opponent is returning star midfielder Jorge Hernandez, and added the likes of high quality defenders in Alex Crognale and Alexis Souahy this offseason — not to mention debuting Carlos Llamosa as their new gaffer. Here are some notes of interest for Monterey Bay leading up to the inaugural match of the year.

-The match will be a homecoming of sorts for new MBFC midfielder Ethan Bryant. The native of Texas started his professional career with San Antonio in 2018 as a 16-year-old, turning heads with a goal and three assists in 10 appearances that year. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to gain a steady spot in the rotation and left the franchise after the 2021 season. Now 23, it will be a good opportunity for him to show his former club what they missed out on.

-It seems unlikely that midfielder Mobi Fehr will be available for at least the near future. Tending to a personal matter, he missed the entirety of the preseason and will need to get himself back to…
