Although there are still moves to be made, the USL Championship offseason is drawing for a close. Clubs are gearing up for the preseason, and players have begun arriving at facilities to work out and get ready to go again. It’s been a busy past couple of months with a lot of activity among the various teams. Here is the best offseason move to date made by each team in the Western Division of the league.

New Mexico United, Signing Midfielder Luiz Fernando: The club has brought back important returners like leading scorer Greg Hurst and intrepid midfielder Zico Bailey. The 27-year-old Fernando is a seasoned pro entering his 10th season in USL Championship and MLS, with 24 goals and 20 assists in 196 matches under his belt.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, Adding Defender Akeem Ward: Having just won the 2024 USL Championship title, the Switchbacks just strengthened their case to repeat by adding one of the best left-backs in the business. Like Fernando, he is coming from Memphis 901, who shockingly closed up shop at the end of this past year.
