Happiness is a Sharp Knife

I like to cook.

I have been using fairly dull knives for a while.

Cutting onions with a dull knife is dangerous. Cut your finger tip off kind of dangerous.

I regularly use a honing stick.

However (in a very misnomered way), honing sticks don’t sharpen knives, they just straighten the edge.

So, I bought a high-quality, electric knife sharpener as a gift to myself for Father’s Day.

I sharpened my chef’s knife today.

Going from a dull knife to a well-sharpened one was amazing.

All of a sudden I remembered that …

yes, this is how it’s supposed to feel

Made me wish I had a life sharpener.

Given one, on a day where life is feeling dull, I would simply hone life’s edge and remember that …

yes, this is how I’m supposed to feel
