The Point of Trying

It seems like our whole life is predicated on trying. It starts from the very beginning of our existence until the end of our lifetime. We try to talk, crawl, walk, dance, and bike. We can now do those things but if we never tried, we would have never moved. For many things that humans have accomplished, it all started by trying. Some people try to sing and sound rusty at first but the vision of having a great voice turns into motivation to keep “trying.”

Surely we can always try new food or try a new hobby but what is the point? It feels nice and comfortable to stay in your lane with the things you already know, but if we always felt that way about sleeping in the grass we would have never understood the convenience of a tent, a house, or a building. If someone never tried to make their vision a reality of having a container that can hold water we would always have to run towards a river and drink with our hands. The only way we would talk is face to face if someone didn’t try to make a telephone.

It seems that “trying” brings us comfort in the end of our accomplishments. Whether it is technologically or becoming successful, in the end of our road towards trying something new, we find comfort and serenity in the realization that because we have tried, we have gained something unimaginable. Since you tried working for a new company, you became vice president, own your dream house, and have a secure life. Since you envisioned a box that flashes continuous picture frames and tried to create it through knowledge, studying, and hard work, the world has tv’s everywhere you go.

What is the bigger picture for all of us trying? We continue to move forward as humans, we have personal gains, societal achievements, and so on. Is that the main purpose? We progress and do so much until our life is done and we don’t take any of it to the grave. It flutters on through others in the next generation, but what have you gained? Personally I believe it is to show us how an afterlife is very plausible. The power that put all of this together has given us these visions and human nature forces us to make those visions reality. So now having planes, phones, and virtual reality in our hands, why does the belief of an eternal afterlife have to be frown upon?

We try and make memories from it. We try and make history from it. We try and make success from it.

Life is short and goes by very fast but in it we see how the world advances from millions of us that continue to try something new each and every day. We all learn something from trying and it shows us how anything is possible. In this infinite universe with billions of stars and so much unknown we see that someone or something had the will to put all of this complexity together and bring us all onto this planet for a reason. It is all pretty unclear to us so we keep trying, even if we do not know what will happen, but we keep trying.
