.NET 9 Appears to be a Big Nothing Burger

The current roadmap leaves a lot to be desired.

Microsoft has published a brief roadmap for .NET 9. To say it’s underwhelming is an understatement of British Proportions.

Don’t get me wrong, improving the tooling for Native AOT will be useful as well as the new language features coming to C#, but the overall focus appears to be on AI and .NET Aspire, neither of which is going to help rank and file .NET developers very much.

If the focus on AI brings in some Python developers, let us all hope they can actually code.
