3 Bold Predictions For Week 3 Of The NFL Season

The third week of the season has arrived, and we’ve already seen some surprises: the Giants have looked horrible, the Kansas City’s trouncing of the Patriots is still sinking in, the Bengals have still not scored a single touchdown, Trevor Semien has played like an All-Pro and LeVeon Bell has not done anything of significance.

With some crucial games coming up, here are three bold predictions for this Sunday’s slate of games.

Odell Beckham, Jr. and AJ Green Will Top 150 Yards

AJ Green’s underwhelming production is a victim of his teammates- QB Andy Dalton and company have given him very little opportunity to succeed. But this week, with Tyler Eifert and John Ross both out, the Bengals have no option other than to force-feed their star wideout- and against Green Bay’s awful secondary, expect AJ Green to put up huge numbers thanks to the huge target share he is about to see.

As for OBJ, he didn’t do much on limited snaps in his debut last week against Detroit. But this week, his 0–2 Giants have a crucial matchup against the Eagles- who, luckily for Beckham, have no good cornerbacks after Ronald Darby suffered an injury. In a pivotal game for New York, expect them to get the ball to their best player.

The Ravens Will Shutout The Jaguars In London

In case you’re new to football: Blake Bortles sucks- a lot. And thus far, rookie running back Leonard Fournette has been Jacksonville’s only source of offensive production. And the primary reason that Baltimore is 2–0 is their fantastic run defense- that’s bad news for Fournette and the Jags, who will have no way to move the chains if the front seven of the Ravens keeps up what they’ve been doing.

Cam Newton And Christian McCaffrey Have Their Breakout Party

Despite their 2–0 record, Carolina’s offense that looks great on paper has been a huge disappointment thus far. And it’s only going to get tougher now that star tight end Greg Olsen will be sidelined for more than a month with a broken foot. However, even if it turns out to be an anomaly, this week will be huge for Carolina’s offense- especially its two stars: Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey. That’s because Carolina has a matchup with the New Orleans Saints, who very well could have the worst defense in the entire NFL- and their top two cornerbacks are both going to be out. Against a depleted defense with more holes than I can count, prepare for Carolina’s two dynamic weapons to be heavily featured.
