5 Remaining NBA Free Agents To Watch
This NBA Free Agency period has been insane. We’ve seen stars of the magnitude of Chris Paul and Paul George traded in the days leading up to it, we’ve seen the Knicks throw away money to Tim Hardaway Jr., and much more. But while most free agents have already been signed, there are still a handful of interesting players who remain.
Alex Len (Restricted)

Since getting drafted in the top five in 2013, Alex Len has at times showed flashes, but has been an overall disappointment. There haven’t been many rumors about Len at all, but there are many teams who could easily decide to take a shot in the dark on a young bigman. He’s restricted, meaning the Suns can match any offer sheet he signs. It will be very interesting to see how high his market value is, and whether or not Phoenix values him at that same number.
Shabazz Muhhamad

The Minnesota Timberwolves renounced Muhammad and renounced the qualifying offer, making him unrestricted. He’s been linked to a few teams, most often the Milwaukee Bucks, where he’d fit well. If someone can get him for a cheaper price, he can serve as a quality spark-plug coming off the bench.
Nikola Mirotic (Restricted)

Mirotic’s case is very peculiar. The Bulls remain adamant that they’d like to bring him back, but they just used a high draft pick on a very similar player in Lauri Markkanen. There’s no reason for the Bulls to bring him back, so naturally, expect Mirotic to get overpaid by Chicago before the summer ends.
JaMychal Green (Restricted)

There were many rumors about Green in the opening days of the free agency period, but nothing has happened since. According to Green’s agent, Memphis is not interested in bringing back the young and versatile combo-forward, which is odd. It sounds like he’ll have a new home, but he will be a valuable role player wherever he goes.
Nerlens Noel (Restricted)

This has been the worst nightmare for Nerlens Noel. Going into this process expecting a huge deal, he will end up with a much smaller one. The Mavericks have made it clear that they will match any and all offer sheets given to Noel, which has discouraged teams from signing the extremely talented bigman.
Along with the aforementioned five players, there are also other intriguing guys left on the market, such as Mason Plumlee, Ian Clark, and Tony Allen. The majority of big names may have already committed to new teams, but 2017 NBA Free Agency is far from over.
