It’s really hard to narrow this down, purely because each part of this show could be considered the best parts. There are rarely parts of this show where you start to get bored or talk to the person next to you.

Most parts of this show lead towards the show’s overall story. There aren’t a ton of side-shows that don’t have anything to do with the main story thread. The moments that felt like they could have nothing to do with the show, will probably come back in season 2. Like Holly being strangely connected to something.

So since each person probably has some of their favorite moments from season 1, here are a few of my favorite moments from Stranger Things Season 1.

The opening sequence.

With a show like this, I think there was a moment where each one of us got really excited and knew what we were watching special. This moment for me was the moment where Dustin, Lucas, and Will left Mike’s house on their bikes and the music kicked in. You could feel what the show was leading up to that moment, with the Dungeons and Dragons, clothes, and home style; but the riding bikes at night and music is what settled it for me. I was in.

What was so great about that moment as well was that it showed that we were getting a show with crappy 80’s parents. Letting their kids ride home on a bike at night a decent distance meant that we were getting a show where the kids could just go anywhere with no consequences expect being kidnapped, fun times.

The beginning of Episode Five: The Flea and the Acrobat.

In the opening sequence of this episode we get to watch Hopper and the boys/Eleven discover massive portions of the story. Hopper breaks into the lab to try and figure out why Will’s body was a fake, and in doing so discovers the Upside Down. Eleven and the crew are on a mission to try and find the gate, after learning about how the gate works, which is an awesome sequence in of itself.

Both of these things happening side by side was really enjoyable. It was the beginning of the second half of the season, and it almost started off the “part two” of the first season’s story arc.

Dr. Brenner’s Hair

I mean, that’s some dope hair.

The emergence of Eleven

Just because she’s probably the most important character of season 1. The way that they introduce her is awesome, the entire diner sequence is fun. The only downside is the guy who plays Benny is also in This Is Us, so you’ll have to hear about that show for awhile when watching this with someone.
