Barcelona have officially completed the transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants will pay the full €222 million release clause. The transfer is completed amidst the possibility that La Liga president Javier Tebas will pursue legal action against PSG over the transfer. Nevertheless, PSG brass went through with the transfer for Neymar. The result is capturing one of the world’s premiere talents and in the process securing a player that is a world-class marketing tool.

The transfer window has been full of turmoil for the Brazlian’s potential move. Earlier this week, Barça Blaugranes reported that the transfer was completed and both clubs would be announcing the deal this week. The report came after the story had heated up in the last couple of weeks. Neymar had reportedly accepted personal terms two weeks ago and within the last week told his teammates that he would be leaving the club. Last Saturday’s El Clásico in Miami ended up being Neymar’s final match as a Barcelona player.

Neymar’s Barcelona career is a storied one in terms of personal accomplishments, and team success. Since arriving in Spain in 2013, he has been apart of winning two La Liga titles, three Copa Del Ray titles, and the famous UEFA Champions League trophy in 2014–15. His success included winning the treble with Barça in 2014–15.
