I Just Unfollowed a Bunch of Writers on Medium
Here’s my criteria
Medium is unlike other social media platforms, where your follow-to-follower ratio impacts the algorithm's favor toward you. I don’t follow a writer to get their follow and then turn around and unfollow them.
But I do like tidiness and efficiency.
Every so often, I go into my Following tab to see if the writers I am following are still active on Medium or if they’ve gone rogue on me and veered from posting about intentional living and pets to rants about politics or abortion.
I do this on my phone’s app while watching television or sitting with my husband while he watches football.
It always surprises me when I find writers with thousands of followers suddenly disappearing from the radar. What made them walk away from this platform?
Perhaps a personal problem, medical condition, or just the busyness of life got in the way.
Some are fleeing for greener pastures. A once prolific writer on Medium can vanish overnight.
