This summer, Boston is flourishing with various music festivals. We at BAMS Fest, Inc. want to embrace and support the summer events throughout the Greater Boston area. This is the time of the year the city is its most vibrant, so don’t be afraid to ride the wave. We are here to inform you of all the vibes you can explore at some of music festivals happening this summer.

Lets look at the 5 music festivals you should be checking out this summer…

  1. Levitate Music and Arts Festival

The foundation of the Levitate Music & Arts Festival is Levitate, a community oriented surf/skate shop based out of Marshfield, MA. The LMF is a two day event that will be held July 8 and 9. This music festival includes vendors such as Budweiser, Bai, B. Good, and General Hydroponics. We encourage you to buy tickets and experience this wonderful event that includes the most inspiring artists, one of whom is Ziggy Marley!

2. Briggs Fest

Briggs Fest is hosted by Briggs Original Boston Cranberry, which makes spiked sparkling cranberry juice, and they have some heavy hitters for their lineup this summer! Held at The Lawn on D, Briggs Fest is festival you NEED to attend this summer. The line up Features national artists Waka Flocka Flame, B.O.B, and Cambridge native Sammy Adams. Of course, Boston cannot throw an event like this without some local representation. Coming out to and represent New England are Khary, Caye and Aziz the Shake. Spread the word and be there on July 29!

3. Reggae in the Park

If you prefer reggae music or simply want to broaden your musical taste, Reggae in the Park is worth the experience. Featuring artists Beres Hammond and Sizzla, the festival is known for its Coachella-like vibe and allows people to enjoy the soothing sounds of cultural history from the comfort of Franklin Park Zoo. Tickets won’t be sold at the gates, so make sure you get them before July 14.

4. Gospelfest

City Hall Plaza is throwing many free concerts throughout the summer for everyone to enjoy! Gospelfest has been New England’s largest Gospel music celebrations for the past 16 years. Attending Gospelfest will be a very soulful experience for the people of Boston. During last years festival, headlining was the beautiful Tina Campbell. Opening up for Campbell was Boston native, Freda Battle, an active member of the Gospel community in New England and nationwide. Gospelfest is an amazing choice when finding events to wind down towards the end of summer. We are excited to find out what they have in store for us this year. This special event will be held on August 6.

5. Bridgin Gaps Festival

Bridgin’ Gaps, Inc. and Mr.PSA, local emcee and host for the Wreak Shop Movement, are hosting their 6th annual Bridgin’ Gaps Festival on August 5 and 6 at Salem Willow. This festival includes a variety performances by local artists, non-local artists, poets, and dance groups. Bridgin’ Gaps is all about celebrating different types of art. It’s the perfect event for the community to attend and celebrate the local art and the work of local organizations.

As the summer progresses, pay attention to all the events happening around Boston. While the city makes an effort in expanding its horizons through acknowledgement of its rich culture and diversity, it’s up the people to show up and support. Ultimately, our goal as BAMS Fest, Inc is to break down social and racial barriers to the arts in the Greater Boston area. Not only do we do this by hosting our own events, but we want our supporters to know what’s available to them in the Greater Boston area. Each event we handpicked to share with you represents different cultures and venues that might have not made it to your Summer to do List. Let’s explore, engage and have fun this summer!
