Google has been having a hard few months, to say the least. Ads and AI-generated articles are dominating the top results which is frustrating their users. Not only that, the emergence of AI tools like Perplexity AI is giving Google a run for its money. Perplexity looks to revolutionize how users search for information. I was interested in diving deeper into the two platforms’ differences in their abilities and user experience.

Google

The decisive characteristic of Google UX is its simplicity of operation with its maximum efficiency. The minimalistic interface offers a large index of search results such as web pages, images, videos, and news articles. Google’s personalization comes into play by using features such as web activity, location, and search history.

Pros

- Speed and Accuracy: Users can find precise information immediately thanks to Google’s strong search algorithms.

- Comprehensive Results: Because the search engine covers a great index, users can make use of a large amount of information on various platforms.

- Personalization: Google personalizes search outcomes based on past actions of the user giving the user a personalized search experience.
