Pitch.me: Innovating Social Networking for Greater Philanthropic Impact
You’re probably an entrepreneur or investor if you’re reading this article. Thinking back on your journey to this point — did you ever need any quick help? Say, from an accountant? Tax advisor? How about marketing strategist? Pitch.me is a new and innovative startup aiming to helping both startup entrepreneurs AND charities win!
I wrote an article about the importance of entrepreneurial social impact a couple weeks back entitled ‘Cryptocurrency Driving Change: Corporate Social Responsibility, Impact Investing, & Now — The DAO’ which includes a brief history on the importance of entrepreneurial impact on our human society. Given the recent article, I am excited to dive into this project!
Pitch.me is providing a channel for entrepreneurs and other professionals to schedule real-time video chat advising sessions. I cannot tell you the sheer number of entrepreneurs I have reaching out to me on the daily for content writing, ICO/Token Sale advising, and marketing strategy…this platform allows me to simply send my profile link to the entrepreneurs who reach out to me and they can schedule a time to chat given my availability. Those speaking to me then have a choice to donate to the charity of my choice.
As you can see above, my likes and interested are displayed — users have the ability to choose 10 custom interests that make up their profile skillset. These interests will be used for others to find you when searching the platform for other professionals to network with or to schedule an advising session. As you might imagine, you will want to keep these 10 interests as relevant to your provided services as possible.
My core provided services are cryptocurrency ICO/Token Sale launch strategy, digital marketing, and really any sort of capital acquisition method. I’m most familiar with Bitcoin and Ethereum so I made sure to include those. In fact, I may even want to change “ICO Strategy” to “Initial Coin Offering Strategy” because ICO could be an acronym for a number of other phrases — as a professional giving advice to entrepreneurs, it’s best to make your profile easiest to find.
Contribution to Charities
This is the impact part! YOU have the ability to set how much those you advise will pay for your advice, to the charity of your interest. As a professional, this is a great way to continue building your social presence and personal brand. Think about it, the charity of your choice is a declaration of who you are — the charity of your choice is a representation of your character, interests, and professional associations.
Earlier there was a picture which showed “Contribution Amount” and below it said “$12.47 Total amount to connect.” Above is the breakdown of where the money goes. Considering Pitch.me is facilitating the processing of these transactions — from professionals in the network to charities — 9% platform fee + $1.50 connection costs isn’t much considering the scarcity of this service and impact on charities across the globe. Remember, the platform is still in beta so this is JUST the beginning.
Entrepreneurs: Post a Need, Find a Solution
This is the fun part! Entrepreneurs of any kind have the ability to register on
the Pitch.me platform and post whatever need an entrepreneur might have. This platform can truly be used for a broad range of products and services. From seeking a service like marketing strategy advice to finding a product like an abandoned smartphone app project to re-code to a combination of the two like a Token Sale launch team seeking content advice and content creation. This form also covers other important factors like location of required services, timeline of needed service, details, and whether or not you have a budget for the product or service need.
Some of you may be thinking, “This is so…basic?” It really isn’t all that complicated. If you log-in, it’s a pretty easy to understand user interface. It’s not overwhelming to dive into like LinkedIn is to many users.
Platform is Poised for Innovation
What you’ve seen so far is going to help so many entrepreneurs who are unsure of where to turn to for help. Primarily startup entrepreneurs who may not be the most business-minded or are operating in a complex field which requires deep knowledge of multiple fields of study. Also for blockchain developers! In my time in the cryptocurrency market and paying close attention to ICOs — digital marketing, marketing strategy, & economics advice are some major fields I see in need of professional entrepreneurial assistance.
Something I would love to see happen with this platform is a developer team approach them about integrating other forms of payment into the Pitch.me platform. To me, that is a match made in heaven! Whether or not a developer team reaches out to them — the integration of cryptocurrency acceptance on the platform could create a community environment for blockchain developers to find greater levels of professional assistance while on their entrepreneurial journey!
