Mankind is blessed with a plethora of great philosophical minds that we can lean on for answers to life's greatest questions. Yet the questions still more than outweigh the answers we've achieved.

Why?

Our problem lies in the fact that we rely so much on those great minds. For humanity to advance any further in the field of philosophy, we'll have to look to the common minds for answers.

That's why the VAT was created - to highlight those voices; the voices of common thinkers like you and me.

Let me break it down.

The glorious "vomit" that fills The VAT is spewed from average people who:

- Are deep thinkers always catching themselves asking, "What if...?"

- Tend to shock others with their instant answers to incredibly complex life questions

- Often dwell on complex questions to which they couldn't find a single definite answer but several possible answers

- May not even be the strongest writers (It's okay. That's what editors are for.) But they have a strong enough vocabulary to convey their thoughts clearly and adequately

Submission Guidelines for The VAT:

1. Writers must already have an account on Medium with a Medium username.

2. All stories must be submitted in draft form.

3. Every story submitted must be original. Nothing A.I. generated.

4. Strive for high quality. We understand all writers may not be the strongest in the craft at the start. As long as it's clear there's an effort being made, and growth is shown progressively with each new submission, we're happy.

5. Try to integrate personal experience into your stories wherever possible. The more personal a story is, the more relatable it is.
