LOOKING for the feel-good film of the year with a star-studded cast, an enticing storyline set in a magical location? Look no further than the recently released romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise.

When best friends Lily Cotton (Kaitlyn Dever) and Wren Butler (Billie Lourd) fly out on a post-graduation holiday to the beautiful island of Bali, separated and consistently argumentative parents Georgia and David Cotton (Julia Roberts and George Clooney) must fly out to reluctantly reunite in a mission to save their daughter from making the mistake they made 25 years before.

However, when Georgia, David and the audience are introduced to the island through native seaweed farmer Gede (Maxime Bouttier) and his family, they are immediately taken on a magical, eye-opening experience, where new cultures and settings are explored, and old emotions are re-kindled.

Scheming duo Clooney and three-time Golden Globe winner Roberts are at their finest in this production, with every scene between the pair guaranteeing to warm your heart as their on-screen characters often reminisce about the glory days before their marriage devastatingly fell apart.

Written and directed by Ol Palmer, who is most famously known for writing and directing the 2018 ABBA-based musical Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and the 2012 romance/drama Now is Good, this fun-filled one hour 44 minute production is action packed with laughs that are guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.

Vue cinema in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, is currently screening the rom-com PICTURE: Nathan Philpott

Sharing similar core values and themes to Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, Ticket to Paradise contains a strong sense of family and love combined with humour, bright colours, exotic surroundings and the inclusion of popular music such as the 1992 hip-hop classic; Jump Around by House of Pain in the soundtrack.

This results in a superbly made end product and an incredible cinematic experience. A future classic that simply must be seen when it is still on the big-screen.

Early box-office figures show an impressive reading too, with the rom-com raking in £2.8million in it’s opening week. Rated a PG 12A, this is one to be enjoyed by all the family.

The film is still currently being screened across the country in major cinemas, and you can purchase your tickets to watch at Vue HERE.
