Boots high street pharmacy is set to launch its own corona testing kit over the next few weeks.

Each test will cost £120 and will include all of the equipment necessary to provide customers with results in just 12 minutes.

These rapid tests will offer communities across the UK a chance to test themselves without waiting 48 hours for their results.

When the service launches, the public will be able to book a test on the Boots pharmacy website.

Sarah Leroux, a nurse working in the NHS, said: “The announcement of this new testing service is somewhat of a relief, as it helps to alleviate the mounting pressure the NHS and its facilities are facing at the moment, during this pandemic.”

She added: “It will not only hopefully help the NHS, but it will also offer the public peace of mind that there is an additional testing service out there available to them if they so need.”

The new service will only be available to members of the public who have not come into contact with anyone tested positive with coronavirus. It will also only be available to people who are not displaying any symptoms of the virus.
