How are students coping with online teaching during lockdown?

Covid-19 brought a pause to in-person teaching, and for many school and university students this has had a detrimental effect on their learning.

For students meant to be taking their exams this year, results are now largely based on teacher graded assessments and homework.

Unlike online teaching, in-person teaching enables students to mingle with peers and have immediate and direct contact with their teachers. For now, unanswered questions rely on how fast teachers can email back.

For some, school has become an integral part of their social life and mental wellbeing and as the beginning of 2021 rolls by, with students still unable to study effectively in classrooms, it leaves many worrying about their grades.

This video story includes three interviews with students studying at different academic levels — GCSE, A-level and university. Each student is having online teaching and are experiencing a variety of struggles.
