The popular ice rink has made its return to Portsmouth for 2019, turning Guildhall Square into a winter wonderland.

The Ice rink re-opened on November 23 and is there until January 5, from 10am-8pm everyday, for all those looking of ways to get into the Christmas spirit. With the general admission being £9 and an hour on the ice, it’s the place to be.

After many complaints and closures last year due to weather and flooding, the ice rink team decided to place a marque over the venue, allowing the rink to be open every day over the Christmas period whatever the weather.

The ice rink is accompanied by a hot drinks hut and photo opportunity spots so there is plenty to do for spectators who are not so keen for the ice. Assistant gliders of penguins are available to hold onto for those who are less confident.

The company behind the ice rink this year is ‘Sk8’ and have enabled SEND lessons, (special educational needs and disability) to allow quieter sessions and to keep the calming atmosphere.
