Portsmouth midfielder Danny Rose steps up recovery from broken leg injury
Portsmouth midfielder Danny Rose has taken the next step in his recovery from a broken leg.
The Blues’ number 4 has begun undertaking light gym work on the exercise bike at the club’s training ground in Hilsea.
Rose, 30, suffered a broken left leg after a strong tackle from a drop ball during Pompey’s 3–1 win over Northampton in December.
Following a successful operation, Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett initially ruled out Rose for the rest of the season.
Although still on crutches, the latest advance in the ex-Northampton man’s rehabilitation will come as welcome news for Pompey fans, who have endured a tough start to 2018.
Rose said: “Once I’m off the crutches completely I can throw them away which I’m looking forward to doing, and just kick on with the process of getting back and getting more fit and putting 100% weight through the leg.
“As soon as I can do that I can do a lot more stuff which will speed up the process that’s for sure.”
Aside from his injury recovery, another milestone Rose is eyeing is a contract extension at Portsmouth, with his current deal scheduled to expire at the end of this current season.
