Portsmouth University hosted the Portsmouth South election hustings this evening.

Each candidate pitched for votes before taking audience questions.

Portsmouth South is an important battleground in this general election, as there is a three-way marginal between the Liberal Democrats, the Conservatives and Labour.

The Liberal Democrats pose competition for Labour, whilst the Conservatives are concerned that the Brexit Party standing may cause ‘leave’ votes to be split. The UK general election will take place on 12th December 2019.
