Greta Thunbergstarted it all, now a year on students across the UK are protesting climate change.

Portsmouth students from Priory School and the University of Portsmouth skipped lessons to have their voices heard.

The demonstration took place outside Portsmouth City Council civic offices.

Many demanded action from politicians, others simply wanted the public to pay attention to the issue.

A faction of younger protesters resorted to blocking foot traffic in Guildhall square to draw more attention to the issue.
