Times of plenty for ‘Big Give’ charities
Many charities have benefited from having each donation doubled in this year’s edition of the annual Christmas Challenge.
The Big Give’s flagship campaign ran from 28 November to 5 December and raised £11.3 million, split between 528 participating charities.
Homelessness charity The Passage was particularly popular with donors, amassing £233,000 according to official figures.
Inspired by the Christmas Challenge’s success, Breaking Views asked festive shoppers which charities they support.
“The main one I support is the RNLI, because I’m a sailor and I think of it as a bit of insurance,” said one shopper.
