Research conducted by visual storytelling platform Lifecake has shown that the UK is viewed as the country that is most supportive of LGBT families.

Seventy five percent of the 2000 respondents to the Modern British Families survey said that the UK is the best place for LGBT parents and their children to live.

The results also showed that 42% of young people are in favour of gender-neutral parenting.

Changing work patterns for both genders and the increase in LGBT marriages and adoptions have shifted the typical nuclear family dynamic.

Lifecake co-founder Ed Botterill said: “The family dynamic in the UK has undergone a dramatic change within a relatively short space of time, with a shift away from the traditional nuclear family.

“Our study shows how social attitudes have evolved to reflect new these new family types.”

A separate study by Nestpick showed that London was voted as the top LGBT city, followed by Brighton and Manchester.

The study was based on each cities’; LGBT dating scene, LGBT nightlife, safety score, the openness in the city, and LGBT rights.
