What it’s like to be a healthcare worker in a pandemic

For most of us, the pandemic has been about connecting with our households, binge watching Netflix and baking banana bread. But for those in the healthcare sector, the lockdown hasn’t been as relaxed.

Naqia Charania, a 21 year old pharmacy student from Portsmouth, spent her lockdown at her local pharmacy helping residents and doing her bit for the community.

Whilst it is a rewarding job, the pandemic has made working in customer facing environments a greater risk than ever before and many key workers have experienced this first hand.

From providing sanitized conditions for customers, to dealing with those that are over-emotional, the responsibilities of the job have increased.
