Supreme Court to hear the plea on Tuesday at 11 am.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear Congress’s petition against Manohar Parrikar being appointed as the Cheif Minister of Goa. Congress has for two days now have maintained their stance by calling the BJP’s move as “murdering” democracy and labelled Manohar Parrikar as “villain”.

Ex-Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar

Goa’s Governor Mridula Sinha on Sunday had appointed Parrikar as the Cheif Minister of Goa, post his resignation as the Defense Minister of India. He was to be sworn in as the Cheif Minister on 14th of March at 5 pm.

The ceremony now can be classified as being in jeopardy, with Supreme Court agreeing to hear the other side on Tuesday at around 11 am.

In the light of recent evidence and back channelling of MLA’s, one might also accuse the BJP of creating an atmosphere where subverting the Constitution and ethics of government formation as a daily affair.
