50 days of blogging
What I learned from 50 days of continuous blogging
With this post I complete 50 days of continuous blogging. Simply to say, that I have written and posted a blog every single day, without fail, come what may. That might be a big challenge nonetheless because I’m typing this in an area in Maharashtra, far from the main city and situated in the middle of a jungle.
Furthermore, the place where I am staying right now, forget a net connection, I’m struggling to get a single bar on the phone, so to ensure that this one gets posted, I had to walk out of the guest house and into the supposed wilderness of this area, don’t ask for a photo , I’ll try to upload that later. Right now I’m out there to get a signal strong enough so I can type this out all the while hoping that the monsoon showers which have been going throughout the day erratically will spare me a few more minutes and don’t soak me or my laptop ☹.
The beauty of doing this far outweighs the challenges that you face. Putting yourself out there day after day, what you think, how you think, every single thing is out there. That challenge in an age when every single one is so conscious about what someone else thinks, is no small feat. It lets you go of your fear and inhibitions.
To top it off you got the difficulty of posting daily like I’m having today. :-P
When I started, I was all about the topics which I already had pre-planned. The first few posts were what I was going to write about anyway. Then slowly and steadily, as my ideas began to disappear, I scrambled to search for them. That’s exactly what master blogger Seth Godin said, that you start observing more and more. The same happened with me, whether it was an everyday boring commute or just sitting with my thoughts in a café, even those mundane chats that don’t stop in Whatsapp groups. All of them became my source for new posts, new ideas.
Today, I’m definitely not afraid to express what I feel. Furthermore, I don’t care what others have to think about me, as long as I believe in my work and myself and staying true to myself. It comes with a price, packaged in a temptation i.e. to lift work of others. I’ve done that too, but again I don’t care, as this is my playground and my experiments and most importantly my area to try new things irrespective of whether I succeed or fail. So if you’re reading this, yes you, I wrote this piece especially for you ☺ and wondering where to even begin, all I can say is give it a push and see it snowball into something huge and magnificent.
