Driven

Today I wanted to talk about an issue that nearly no one raises, ever. That is because of the judgemental fools that we have become. It came to me while watching this movie known as “Mr. Peabody and Sherman.” In this scene it is shown that the Principal has called upon Mr. Peabody to let him know that Sherman has misbehaved with a girl, more specifically he bit her in the arm.

They even take photographs as evidence. This scene in its isolation looks like a case of misbehaviour. However, when you look at the scene just before it you’ll realise that he wasn’t the one who misbehaved, he was driven to act the way he did after trying to sort it amicably. The reason why I wanted to bring this up today is because this isn’t something that happens in movies, this is that happens in real life on a regular basis. There are millions of people who are driven through constant annoyance and small forms of bullying. These over time drive them to do something big or regrettable.

The real problem is that it is very easy to talk about the person who behaved this way. It is very easy to put the blame on him, but no one ever concerns to find out why he acted the way he did, no one wants to know the driving force behind it. The only thing for them that matters is what the person did and the repercussions. This is a behavior issue and no one wants to attack the root cause while everyone is busy attacking the branches.

My only message is that the next time you see a normal, happy go lucky person having an emotional outburst, do not be quick to pass judgement on him. It may not be because he is this way, it maybe that he was driven by someone or something. Such people need your support and understanding. They are not habitual offenders and more often than not are the true victims.
