Just another day?

It was your average monday today, people complaining about Sunday waking up slowly. The sun rose as people struggled through traffic to reach their offices, everything was same yet something was different. Many of the faces had a very particular tensed look to it, most people wouldn’t have noticed it. Even I thought I was imagining it until I saw my two colleagues with the same slightly tensed look, each person was rocked to the core with what happened yesterday in Uri. Lot of people said a lot of things, but the silent majority carried this tensed look on its face.

Of course each of us had their priorities, work, college, family, but I would be wrong to say that no one was touched by yesterday. The media was going about its shouting matches, some asking to destroy Pakistan and others playing the peace dove.

The usual arguments were making the rounds across the media, stop dealing with Pakistan stop stop that and a whole lot of nonsense. Whatever be the case today was not just another day, people were angry, scared, concerned, but suffering from short term memory loss we’ll soon forgive and forget and move on to our usual routines without bothering much, never to stand united again until another attack happens.
