Kadi ninda

The aftermath of the Uri attack

I’m pretty sure we’ve heard this term more times than we care to admit. Politicians use it whenever our neighbours Pakistan care to show us their love. If it was an attack on their party from a rival party then actions speak louder than words, that time there is no kadi ninda, only actions in the form of legal actions, fist fights and arrests, but this concerns the nations security so a kadi ninda will have to do.

I’ve been listening to it for as long as I can remember. Right from 2001 parliament attack to the one that happened today, it’s the best and the most convenient way for our politicians to escape. Just say the following: “ Jo ghatna ghatit hui hai, hum uski kade shabdo me ninda karte hain” (Whatever happened today, we condemn it in the strongest possible manner).

I can see what will happen next, the pakistan ambassador will be called up who will deny any involvement. The defence minister or some other ministers will pay condolences, , and a few speeches will be made. Then the government really gets to work with the following

  • Stopping all cricket matches with Pakistan
  • Preparing dossiers of evidence and handing them over to them, (so they can make paper planes out of it.)
  • Crying about to the United States or UN
  • Conducting High level meetings with agencies and then with Pakistani counterparts
  • Receiving flak from Pro Pak Doves for being too harsh and getting forced to extend an Olive branch
  • Getting ready to be attacked again

You can see that you can link it not just with Uri but with nearly every Pakistani attack we have faced till now. I’m not going to tell what the government needs to do but ‘kadi ninda’ is not going to cut it this time. Our soldiers are already demoralised thanks to the media, the NGO with their agendas, the sick political parties trying to score brownie points by risking our security and on top of that fighting with terrorists and Pakistanis on one side and keeping the Chinese incursions at bay on the other.

The least we can do is extend our support to the soldiers, and demand an unprecedented move against the Pakistani regime, something that can easily break their backs. We have everything at our disposal, from the Indus water treaty to global support to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state.

Whatever Narendra Modi wants to do, he has to make it quick as the growing intolerance in people against such attacks, against the Pro pak doves is not going to die down soon, and it will all be telling when the next elections come around.
