About 5 years back when we had a regular internet connection I came across this video titled, “the price of happiness” from a TED talk. Simple the 15 minute long video talked about how some things are just plain overpriced and not worth it.

The simple point that it drives home and something we should all consider is, how much is too much? How far are we willing to go and how much are we willing to pay for simple items. In one of my earlier articles, I talked about Luxoticca the eyewear giant. The owner said that no matter how high they keep the price, as long as the customer is willing to shell it out and feel its worth it, he’ll be happy. There are thousands of more such examples. It is probably due to these reasons, reputed brands from all corners have their fan following even though some of the local and cheaper versions provide much better quality.

The real question in the end is is spending that much really worth it? In cases it may be and some of the more expensive items are true value for money, but on the same hand there exist a whole lot of products in the world which we can get at a decent price and not having to spend an outrageous amount.

Here’s the full video of the guy trying to make a point and probable one talk every person should have a look at before splurging so much.
