Why I am obsessed with books

Apart from the fact that I’ve been surrounded by my coursebooks for most of my 28 years, I’ve developed a strong connection with books. No matter what they are, I find books amazing. I can gobble an entire series of books without thinking twice.

For someone who has spent most of his time on his own and been a bit of an introvert, okay, a complete introvert, I feel books are truly the only things that I can connect with. Losing myself in a fantasy world, because the real one isn’t really a happy place to be in. Being there, using my imagination, fighting demons, seeing empires built and kingdoms crumble, men rising to become gods and Gods falling lower than they have ever been before. A book on its own is just pages with scribbles, but in the hand of a reader, it becomes so much more.

For some like me it is a welcome getaway from their lives, for others it is a way to learn the ways of this magnificent world, while in the hands of others it can be more powerful than an atomic bomb.

If you’re not a reader than you don’t know what you might be missing out. It’s a fun party but it is not for everyone. The fact with people who read a lot is, that they may seem shy, closed or introverted and small on the outside, but in fact they’re like the TARDIS, “bigger on the inside”
