Like any other relic, the value of old bar signs is determined by their age, condition, design, rarity, and historical significance.

I inherited this cool, light-up tavern sign from the belongings of a woman who died 25 years prior to my purchase of her home in upstate New York.

Looking this one up, I learned something I didn’t know. Bass Ale originated in England. It’s Brewery is located in Staffordshire, England, still there today, and the building is now owned by Molson Coors.

Bass Ale was one of the world’s first trademarked brands and exported its ale to various countries around the world. While it enjoyed popularity in its home country, Bass Ale also gained significant recognition and consumption in the United States, particularly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
