6 Simple Phrases That Are Actually Extremely Insulting to Women

You’ve probably said some of these phrases. And you’ve definitely heard them. Most of them are sexist, some are meant as compliments, but all of them are demeaning.
You may not have meant it, and you may not have realized it. And that’s okay, because many of us were brought up thinking these phrases were normal. And to an extent, they were.
But the fact that people (both men and women) say things like this on a regular basis doesn’t mean they should. Most people don’t realize how damaging it can be, constantly hearing subtle terms that undermine and patronize.
To those of us who are aware and have heard these most of our lives — it drives us a little crazy (and not in a good way).
