I’ve had a Word doc open for a month now, waiting to write what I’ve been holding back about the latest issues with Medium regarding tanking earnings for writers and the avalanche of AI articles that are partly responsible.
So, on behalf of my publication, our 16k+ followers and 100+ writers, and the other pub owners and editors who feel the same about this latest shift…

Dear Medium,
You don’t know this, but I’ve always been one of your biggest fans.
Since I joined eight years ago, I’ve written hundreds of articles, read thousands, engage regularly, gotten to know many other writers on the platform, and continue to wear out the friend link that has brought more readers to your door.
I’ve been a speaker for Medium Day and the Pub Crawl, earned all the bonuses in the year of bonuses (ahh the good ol’ days), and have even done outside interviews praising the writing opportunities available here. I’m also one of the original boost nominators from the beta program.
To say I’m invested in Medium’s success is an understatement.
