“How are you?,” people ask…but they’re not asking. I say what’s on my mind:

“It doesn’t matter.”

That hurts feelings. It turns heads and ruffles feathers, but truth be told, I’m not trying to attract attention. I’m just being honest which is, after all, one of the things that is required of me.
