The Virago is dedicated to speaking our voices as women and the issues we face in our world.

As we saw June wrap up Pride month, we want to dedicate this newsletter to the queer community. If you’re interested in some TED talks regarding LGBTQ rights and history, the TED website has gathered a collection of talks here.

As a new publication, we are looking for LGTBQ writers. We are looking for stories about overcoming the multiple issues experienced as a queer or transwoman. I am not the expert in this subject, so I don’t feel I’m qualified to write on this subject. If you know anyone who IS interested, please forward them this newsletter!

Here are a few highlighted articles for June — all are friend links in case you get this email but are not on the Medium Partnership Program:

Fatima Sultan5 Simple Steps to Stop Making Excuses and Get Results in Your Life

Fatima SultanWhy I’ve Toned Down My Feminism a Notch or Two

Rev. Sheri Heller, LCSWHow I’ve Transformed Self-Hate to Love

These are excellent reads! We recommend reading ALL of them.
